"How come James can invariably get his systems sounding just fine, whereas it seemed pretty much every other demo Mark and I visited either sounded dull and lifeless or unbearably shrill?" "Gotta say I'm now swung by the big Gurus...the proper production ones sounded absolutely terrific. I'm just gonna have to crank up their baby brothers a bit more..." "I've always liked them (Guru QM 60). There is something about the combination of big dynamic range, excellent punch, smooth delivery and the 'open window' clarity with which the music is laid out that I have not heard in too many other speakers, and none at the price. They just have a real easy, effortless way with the music that shows off what the Naim electronics can really do. They manage to be detailed without being unforgiving, punchy yet smooth." " Agree with a lot of comments by all, my son and I spent about 3 hours at the show most of them at the Diverse Vinyl & Stamford Audio stand and James room!! Have to say completely bowled over by the QM60's. Seriously high resolution with a smooth flowing presentation, and seemed comfortable with all types of music, can't remember who it was playing Susan Tedeschi but that sounded fab!" " As commented earlier, the TomTom room was the highlight at Heathrow. The guy with James (from Guru I think) was a top bloke. Infectiously enthusiastic and keen to show off what the speakers could actually do. The big Gurus are now on my shortlist for a speaker upgrade." " I thought James' room sounded excellent" "The Artemis Labs turntable with Aro and Lyra Dorian looks as good as it sounds, and it sounded pretty good to my ears - tight, rhythmic and involving" " Big respect to James and Tom Tom team for making the effort to run a good show, its vital we support guys like this who keep the hifi flame burning...." |
